This week I have taken my inspiration from this small blue and white Chinese vase. It was originally bought by my grand-mother and has been in the family for over 50 years. I’m very fond of this vase as it reminds me of happy childhood memories!

And here’s this week’s design for you
Although the real vase is blue and white, I’m interested to see what colours you choose to use!
Here in the UK we have a long weekend with two bank holidays for Easter, so extra time for doodling!
I have a special project for you today and have taken as my inspiration the work of Peter Carl Fabergé, jeweller to the court of the Romanov Russian royal family. The eggs are very elaborate and intricate, but it is the ones with flower designs that I’m particularly drawn to.
The short video below features more of the collection, which is now housed in the Kremlin Armoury Museum and gives some of the history of the eggs.

I have taken cherry blossom as the inspiration for the design of my egg.
